The organization is embarking on a new phase of impact-driven growth, which will see the expansion of programs and of locations of operation. In this context, Conflict Dynamics is seeking to develop and implement new organizational arrangements, policies and procedures in the areas of operations, strategy implementation and administration and requires an exceptional Chief Operating Officer to achieve this for sustained impact.


The Role

Conflict Dynamics is seeking to engage an exceptional, highly-motivated, missiondriven Chief Operating Officer (COO) who will have overall responsibility for ensuring the effective operations of the organization. This includes the areas of core- and general program-related operations, organizational strategy implementation, and administration, to enable the organization to expand its impact.

Person Specification

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – written and verbal – including extensive experience in presenting ideas to internal and external audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills within an organization or Program Team. Must be a team player, open to taking direction and able to work well under pressure.
  • Knowledge and experience in using project management tools and generating reports from accounting systems.
  • Fluency and very good drafting skills in English essential. Fluency/strong working level in another language, especially French or Arabic, will also be an asset.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and to manage various streams of work simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Cultural sensitivity, emotional intelligence, and commitment to the highest standards of professionalism and operational excellence.
  • Candidates must have pre-existing authorization to work in the United States.
  • Post-graduate degree (Master’s Degree/MBA/MPA/PhD or an equivalent professional qualification) in operations management, public administration, not-for-profit management, accounting or other relevant fields.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ of progressive professional experience in the areas of not-for-profit operations, management or administration, including at least 5 years of experience in a senior level role relating to operations.
