The Director of Human Resources is a critical role that serves as member of MCD’s Executive Team to help drive the overall organizational strategy and delivery on HR strategic priorities and objectives. Working closely with the senior leadership, the Director of Human Resources provides guidance and strategic leadership in a variety of HR matters, including but not limited to talent acquisition, talent management, organizational development, compliance and employee relations.

The Director of Human Resources ensures that all HR activities align with MCD’s mission, vision and core values and elevate the overall employee experience for MCD’s global workforce. This role will act as a change agent, partnering with stakeholders across the organization, ensuring the desired outcomes are clear and the change efforts supports the team in achieving those outcomes. This role will work with executive leadership in fostering a culture of inclusion, learning and cross-functional collaboration.  The Director of Human Resources is business savvy and is honed into the organization’s programs, operations, functions, strategic plans, and culture.

Knowledge, Qualifications, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field (Master’s Degree and/or Senior or Global Professional in Human Resources Certification – SPHR/GPHR - preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in HR management with at least 5 years in an executive HR leadership role.
  • Prior experience managing a team of HR staff.
  • Experience working for US non-profit organizations (international and healthcare-focused preferred).
  • A solid understanding and knowledge of US and state employment laws; and experience with labor laws in Spanish-speaking, francophone, and other developing countries.
  • Proven experience leading and/or actively participating in organization-wide DEI&B efforts.
  • Intermediate knowledge in use of MS Office (advanced preferred) and experience managing HRM tools (ADP and Orange preferred).

Strategic thought leader; Results oriented and solid organizational skills; excellent communication skills; proven coaching and facilitation skills; Sound analytical and critical thinking skills; Proven interpersonal skills. Sound cultural competency. Ability to manage sensitive situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Intermediate level MS Office skills (advanced preferred) and proven experience managing e-HRIS systems. A second language (French or Spanish) is a distinct advantage.
