About GlobalGiving

GlobalGiving’s mission is to transform aid and philanthropy to accelerate community-led change. We believe that good ideas come from anyone, at any time, or from anywhere, and we’re committed to supporting the people who have the best ideas about how to change their own communities.

As the world’s first global crowdfunding platform, in 2002 we set in motion a virtuous cycle of good. We work with nonprofits, individual donors and companies to enhance the effectiveness of locally driven organizations in hundreds of communities. To date, we have supported more than 22,000  projects with $377 million of funding from 875,00 donors across 170 countries around the world—and we’re still growing!

Fellowship Focus Areas

We have fellowship opportunities on five of our teams: Vetting and Grants, Program, Operations, Business Development and Marketing and Communications. You are welcome to apply to multiple fellowships, but please ensure that your application highlights why you would be excellent in that specific role.

Vetting and Grants Fellows

Our Vetting and Grantmaking team interacts directly with nonprofit leaders in more than 170 countries and evaluates the credentials of new organizations joining GlobalGiving. Fellows will utilize GlobalGiving’s tools to determine the eligibility of new organizations interested in fundraising or participating in one of our corporate programs. Candidates with a keen interest in global grantmaking, international nonprofit structures, risk management, cross-cultural communications, and a curious disposition are encouraged to apply. Specifically, Fellows will:

  • Conduct due diligence review on nonprofit organizations around the world, including thorough reviews of all governing documents, financial reports, staff, and social impact analysis.
  • Provide cross-functional vetting support to GlobalGiving’s Accelerator, including participation in regular Accelerator meetings and project management.
  • Provide cross-functional vetting support to GlobalGiving’s corporate partners, including exposure to their corporate social responsibility programs and some grants management responsibilities.
  • Grow your expertise by identifying best practices in international grantmaking and/or researching nonprofit legal frameworks in different countries.
  • Use customer relationship management tools to document application processes and track communications with organizations.
  • Apply creative and critical thinking to contribute our team and our community's learning, improvement, and innovation.

Program Fellows

Our Program team works directly with our nonprofit partners all over the world, helping them tell their unique stories through our innovative platform and strengthening their capacity to fundraise, communicate, and deliver social impact.

Each Program fellow plays a role in providing a WOW-worthy user experience for everyone who interacts with GlobalGiving. From a U.S. donor trying to give to their favorite project, to a nonprofit partner in running a school in Thailand, to companies looking for a way to help their employees give back, this team supports everyone through excellent community support via phone, email, live chat, and in-person interactions.

In addition, each Program Fellow will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with thousands of organizations to approve their earth-changing projects so they can start fundraising and create impact on the ground.
  • Read and provide feedback to thousands of nonprofit partners on their projects reports, which update donors on their progress in the field.
  • Optimize GlobalGiving's processes to scale as we grow to serve more organizations around the world.
  • Experiment, experiment, experiment! Create, implement, and evaluate tests that will help us grow and determine best practices.
  • Craft communications, including blog posts and newsletter content, to update our nonprofit partners on the latest news, success stories, etc.
  • Assist organizations with fundraising support through matching campaigns and other GlobalGiving promotions, so they can continue to become crowdfunding rockstars!

We are a close-knit team responsible for the accounting, finance and human resource functions of the organization, as well as supporting business intelligence and overarching strategic planning at GlobalGiving.

If you’ve got an analytical mind, an eye for detail, and a knack for knowing when the right question is more important than the right answer, we can’t wait to hear from you. We’re especially looking forward to meeting candidates who are excited to pick up projects and run with them! The Operations Fellow will:

  • Help us fight crime! You’ll collaborate with our Data Scientist to detect, process, and prevent fraudulent activity on our website.
  • Help fund community-led organizations all over the world. You’ll support the core financial operations of over $40M in contributions to organizations around the globe. By appropriately handling and delivering designated contributions, you will help ensure delivery of funds to local organizations, from Albania to Zambia.
