Description

For 45 years, JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI) has provided high-quality technical and managerial assistance to public health programs worldwide. JSI’s Center for Digital Health (CDH) works to enable JSI to identify, adapt, and apply appropriate, innovative, and effective technology to improve public health programs across the globe. We help projects ensure success by promoting best practices in Digital Health through technical assistance, supporting new business development, and providing learning opportunities and guidance to build capacity. Our portfolio of work spans the strategic application of technology to solve health challenges, including improved health service delivery, health information management systems, information sharing and utilization, community education & mobilization, identity and registration, supply chains and logistics, surveillance and mapping. The CDH sees digital solutions as tools to solve problems, and we are dedicated to supporting our colleagues and clients to leverage these solutions to solve public health challenges.

The CDH Program Officer will support coordination of day-to-day center activities, including center work-planning and progress tracking, managing center priorities, new business development, center communications, and will support other CDH projects/programs as needed.

The strong preference is for this position to be based Washington DC. We may also consider a fully remote position in states where JSI R&T is registered (AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, IL, IN, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NC, PA, RI, TN, TX, VT, VA, WA, WI).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations and Administrative support, including

  • Organize internal team meetings;
  • Coordinate event planning for workshops, trainings, and brown bags;
  • Develop & maintain Center products, documents, technology hardware, data sets and file management systems;
  • Develop & maintain other internal systems and tools for Center management;
  • Track conferences and submission deadlines;
  • Track requests for CDH support

New Business Development (NBD) support:

  • Assist the Center team to identify and track new business opportunities;
  • Help manage proposal development process/play an Assistant Coordinator or Budget Assistant role for proposals;
  • Assist in creating/maintaining JSI corporate capability statements related to digital health

Communications support:

  • Maintain both Center intranet and JSI.com pages and listservs by writing, editing, or request relevant content from colleagues for website;
  • Maintain a schedule of blog posts, including drafting original content;
  • Assist the team to prepare project reports, presentations and technical papers;
  • Manage conference abstract submission, logistics, and communication collateral;
  • Support communications strategy for center;
  • Support the creation of CDH collateral, including drafting original material.

Other Project Support

  • Provide technical, operations and administrative assistance and support to projects as needed;
  • Backstop Center-managed project portfolio as needed;
  • Review Concur expense reports, purchase requests and invoices before submission for approvals.
  • Maintain relationships with internal clients and engage with them on project work;
  • Assist projects with vendor selection, advising on workplans/scopes of work, requirements gathering, and reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Masters in public health OR 1-2 years of work experience preferred;
  • Understanding of the current health information technology/digital health landscape in either domestic or international context and a passion for using technology to create better health outcomes
  • Experience in communications and data visualization programs (e.g., InDesign), content management software (e.g., Drupal), data visualization programs (i.e. Tableau) and design programs desirable;
  • Ability to work comfortably with one or more of the following: Magpi, CommCare, SurveyCTO, FrontlineSMS;
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills and attention to detail;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully in a multicultural, team environment;
  • Ability to work independently and manage various projects in a team setting with minimal supervision;
  • English fluency required; second language proficiency desirable (French preferred).

Salary Range: $53,213-$85,626-based on experience & location
