At Development Initiatives our mission is to ensure that decisions about the allocation of finance and resources result in an end to poverty, increase the resilience of the world’s most vulnerable people, and leave no one behind.

During the past 20 years, DI has expanded from a small organisation in rural south-west England to a 70-staff strong global organisation with teams in East Africa, South Asia, North America and Latin America.

But growth is not our objective; getting the most value from every dollar spent on ending poverty has always been the driving force of our work. Until only a few years ago, DI was one of the few voices calling for the end of poverty by 2030 – but the world has changed. Ending poverty is now seen as a feasible goal, and people are asking not ‘when’ but ‘how’.
