About InterAction:

InterAction is the largest U.S. based coalition of international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) with 180+ members working around the world in low- and middle-income countries, fragile and post-conflict states, and emerging/growth economies. Member organizations are large and small, secular and faith-based, with a focus on people living in the world’s most poor and vulnerable places. The U.S. public, foundations, and governments support the work of our member NGOs that collectively invest and manage more than $15.4 billion a year. InterAction revenues come from dues, government grants, private foundation and corporate grants, and a fee-for-service program portfolio. Using its collective voice and convening power, InterAction seeks to shape important policy decisions and actions across a wide range of issues – including foreign assistance, humanitarian relief, development, economic equity, food security, and climate change – that advance human dignity, human potential, and self-determination.

Who We Are - InterAction

InterAction is looking for a Digital Graphics and Layout Consultant. The selected candidate will support the development of new graphics and/or adopting existing graphics to suit the InterAction branding guidelines and learning objectives, in consultation with InterAction’s technical and communications teams.

The Wider Impacts of S&S, and the Settlements Approach Guidance Note was published in 2020 and 2021 respectively. InterAction, with the support of BHA, is currently adopting these two publications into an online course. Both curriculums are being developed by consultants. The expected time frames for the courses are: Wider Impacts of S&S online course Nov 2021 – June 2022 and Settlements Approach Guidance Note online course is Jan 2022 – Nov 2022.

We expect the Wider Impacts and Settlements Approach online courses to be about one hour and 2 – 2.5 hours in duration, respectively. A significant number of graphics, icons and infographics were already developed as part of the two publications and resulting webinars. The consultancy will meet any additional graphics development requirements. It is estimated that the one-hour Wider Impacts training will consist of approximately 50-60 slides but not all slides will require redesign or development. It is estimated that approximately 10-15% of the slides will need new graphics or redesign. Very limited, if any, animations will be required.

The consultant will:

  • Clearly understand the objectives and target audience, familiarize with both publications, and follow InterAction’s style sheet and branding standards (Style sheet and branding guidelines will be provided)
  • Initially develop master slides for the two courses, which are expected to be around 5 slides per each course.
  • Convert provided images or sketches to fit InterAction’s branding guidelines and into final images.
  • Work alongside the curriculum development consultants and Articulate online course developer to understand technical requirements. Be available during peer-review process (expected around both the first draft and  final version).
  • Have a good understanding of humanitarian principles and related terminology, as well as inclusive, accessible, and plain language principles.
  • Understand graphics suitable to mobile and online platforms.

Planned timeline and duration:

This consultancy is expected to be carried out from December 2021 – November 2022. Work is to be carried out remotely. It is expected that the level of effort will change according to the final curriculum. The time commitment is expected to higher at the start and end of each course development timeframe.

For consideration:

Interested Consultants are required to submit:

  • A statement of interest or cover letter – Please specify commitment to meet the deadline, expected renumeration and expected number of days proposed (with the understanding that scope will change and be negotiated).
