Position Summary

Reporting to the President and CEO, this newly created position is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the design, planning, and implementation of a successful fundraising program. The Director of Development achieves InterAction’s goals by partnering with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, director of membership, program managers, and Board members, to develop strategies for expanding fundraising opportunities and increase engagement with individual and foundation donors.

Essential Functions:

· Direct the design and execution of an effective strategic fundraising program in alignment with InterAction’s 2024-2027 strategic plan; implement creative and customized approaches to attract and cultivate individual and foundation donors.

· Work in close collaboration with President and CEO, program teams, and membership to ensure seamless management of relationships, revenue, and related activities. Manage database of prospects and outreach actions; ensure fulfillment of contributions from individuals and foundations.

· Advise and support the President and CEO and senior leadership on identifying and securing major funding and partnership opportunities. Provide support to Board members to promote opportunities for engagement with potential funders committed to supporting and advancing our strategic goals.

· Develop and maintain relationships with individuals and foundations to promote opportunities for engagement with InterAction.

· Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive understanding of InterAction programs and priorities to pursue new funding sources to advance our work.

· Cultivate ongoing relationships with donors and prospects to ensure an understanding of their philanthropic interests and alignment with the mission and priorities of InterAction.

· Ensure up-to-date management of prospect database for tracking fundraising activities to ensure seamless coordination of outreach efforts with internal teams in membership and program areas; advise finance staff of status of leads in the pipeline.

· Conduct detailed research to identify donor prospects; assist in developing annual projections and systems for monitoring and reporting progress on fundraising goals.

· Assist program teams in developing grant and funding proposals to ensure consistent and compelling appeals for funding opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

· Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

· Minimum eight (8) years of direct experience building and leading fundraising activities through individual, foundation, and corporate donations.

· Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and build relationships with donors, prospects, and stakeholders.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to craft compelling, influential fundraising communication.

· Demonstrated success identifying and cultivating new prospects, converting prospects to donors, and maintaining multiple donor relationships.

· Experience establishing, monitoring, and meeting short-term and long-term revenue goals.

· Strong research, analytical, and database skills; experience using data analytics to measure success.

· Commitment to the mission and values of InterAction.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Previous experience with association membership, nonprofit organizations, and NGOs

· Experience with international policy, development, public administration, public policy, or business organizations

· Experience with Salesforce or comparable CRMs

· Experience with grant writing and proposal development

· Ability to speak a language other than English highly desirable

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not supervise employees.

Compensation:

Salary range $125,000 - $160,000 per year. Additionally, InterAction offers an excellent benefits package.
