RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Business Development and Marketing will lead the team that assesses and tracks opportunities, developing a detailed, forward-looking strategy for growth. The Director will also lead JSI’s external-facing business development engagement efforts, cultivating and managing relationships with partners and donors. This position will also be responsible for market analysis, strategic intelligence gathering, revenue forecasting, and pipeline management.

The role includes the following tasks:

  • Populate and track a forward market pipeline
  • Forecast revenue based on pipeline
  • Coordinate revenue forecasting with bid prioritization and strategic hiring
  • Manage bid/no bid processes

  • Build and maintain long term relationship-building with clients, donors, and other implementers, especially those in the global south
  • Cultivate potential local country hire and international recruits
  • Align external marketing, communications, and engagement to growth
  • Engage with and represent JSI to industry groups
  • Develop systems and attendant processes for country teams to systematically forecast opportunities, identify and communicate shifts in markets and in donor priorities, and respond when opportunities present themselves
  • Lead efforts to explore new markets

The Director will manage a team of professionals.
