Description

Synopsis: This position will join the MCC U.S. HR Team in carrying out an organization-wide recruitment strategy, leading selection processes to fill MCC vacancies globally, and ensuring smooth onboarding. This position will also attend recruitment events on behalf of MCC as needed and provide backup support to HR colleagues during peak work times. Schedule for this role may include some irregular hours to meet with selection teams and interview candidates across time zones.

Essential:

  • ​​High school diploma​ with ​3-5 years relevant experience​ in in HR, recruitment, or related work. If no relevant experience, higher educational attainment required.
  • 1-3 years of either recruitment/selection, benefits administration, onboarding, training, or HR policy work.
  • Proficiency in Office Suite and electronic communication with technical aptitude.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Intercultural Experience and Competencies. An ability to respectfully and appropriately interact with a diverse range of team members and candidates.
  • Demonstrated relationship skills.
  • Skills in critical evaluation, ethical practices, and attention to details.
  • Ability to keep personnel information in confidence and use discernment in confidential situations.

Employment eligibility: Legally eligible to work in the U.S. MCC offers of employment are subject to a successful criminal background check(s).

Preferred:

  • Spanish or French fluency.
  • Experience with an HRIS or applicant tracking software.
  • HR Certification or additional education (Bachelors/Masters) in HR, business management, organizational development or similar field

Tasks:

Recruitment & Selection:
1. As assigned by the Talent and Recruitment Manager, provide collaborative leadership to selection process for all assigned vacancies. Follow MCC Policies /Procedures and HR best practices to attract and retain a diverse and qualified workforce for the organization. Provide high-quality care to candidates by proactively providing information and responding to inquiries promptly with care.
2. Collaborate closely with hiring managers to create appropriate Job Descriptions and selection processes. Facilitate selection team for assigned vacancies. Educate hiring managers to navigate HRIS for access to candidate information and about ideal hiring processes.
3. Provide administrative support for scheduling selection team meetings and interviews with consideration for multiple time zones. Scheduling may require Recruiter to occasionally work irregular hours.
4. Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders as recruitment ambassadors to ensure broad awareness of available MCC openings. Identify and recommend best practices for MCC in advancing career discovery to diverse stakeholder groups.
5. Collaborate with HR colleagues and other recruiters to implement MCC’s recruitment strategy. Attend recruitment network meetings.
6. Respond to candidate leads who contact MCC for guidance on possible service assignments, ensuring their information is entered and kept current in the HRIS for recruiters to access.
7. Conduct any required background checking with respective invited candidates.
8. Assist with training MCC staff on new HR processes or features as they are rolled out for implementation.
9. Provide back up support to HR colleagues, primarily related to “Acquisition and Retention of Talent” subgroup functions but also potential back up to other groups as needed particularly for assigned projects.
10. Serve as a subject-matter expert on bias awareness in recruitment, selection and other employment decisions and work collaboratively with the US HR Team to improve MCC’s ability to be an inclusive employer and remove barriers that affect staff retention and advancement.

Onboarding:
1. Support candidates during the period between offer letter acceptance and start date with MCC, educating about MCC, ensure access in the HRIS, assisting with logistics and preparing candidates for on-boarding to MCC.
2. Support new MCC U.S. staff and U.S. citizens going into international service as needed during initial months of employment/service, ensuring each one receives the HRIS training needed to carry out functions relevant to their role, assist in balancing sufficient on-boarding info while preventing overload of info and giving feedback on these aspects to Managers.
3. Close relevant vacancies in the HRIS and ensure that respective new Team Member setup in the HRIS is completed.

General Recruitment:
1. Attend recruiting events and engagements to represent MCC within the geographic constituency. Assist with planning and follow up for these engagements.
2. Stay aware of recruitment needs for US, Canada, and International Program. Actively support promotion of MCC openings.
3. Work with Recruitment Network to ensure information about MCC’s international and domestic openings are easily accessible to support the overall Recruiting Strategy. As part of supporting this strategy, join committees, focus groups, and special projects as needed.
4. Assist with advertising for MCC service opportunities as assigned by the Talent and Recruitment Manager.

Other duties as assigned on a temporary basis

Travel expectations Travel up to 10% within the U.S. or Canada primarily to regional recruitment events and network meetings.
