Description

Job Synopsis

The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate MCC’s relationships with partners in Iraq, providing support in areas such as planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting (PMER). The role involves building and maintaining effective partnerships, facilitating training, ensuring coordination with MCC teams, and participating in sector meetings to enhance collaboration and resource mobilization. Additionally, the position requires staying informed on regional issues, managing media needs, and supporting logistics for visitors .

This role holds significant leadership and decision-making responsibilities, particularly in supporting MCC’s relationships with partners and the coordination of PMER activities. The role provides direction by facilitating capacity-building activities, collaborating with the MCC Project Coordinators and Country Representatives, and contributing strategic input into proposal development and partnership strategies. While the position reports to the Project Coordinator, the individual will also work independently on tasks, coordinate with various teams across MCC’s offices, and engage in key external relationships (e.g., UN sector meetings, media, government authorities). The role also influences decision-making by providing input on the planning and evaluation of projects, which is used by colleagues to improve program effectiveness and identify new opportunities. It also plays a key liaison role, offering support to both internal and external stakeholders, but without direct authority over them.

This role involves approximately 60-70% of time working directly with partner organizations in Iraq. It provides significant support through capacity-building, including training in PMER, reviewing reports, and guiding proposal development. The role also offers strategic input by identifying new project ideas, negotiating agreements, and ensuring alignment with MCC’s mission. Regular communication and visits strengthen relationships and provide ongoing guidance to help partners implement projects effectively.
