We are seeking an experienced Director for a full-time position in our home office in Silver Spring, Maryland. This is a senior leadership position responsible for oversight, motivation, and guidance to the Program Impact team and providing support to program directors, chiefs of party, and AMTs to ensure excellence in implementation, client service, and compliance. The Director will also make significant contributions to policies, procedures, program management tools and resources; ensure uniform uptake of our processes and procedures; and build capacity to ensure quality project management, mitigate risks, obtain high CPARs, meet corporate budget, and achieve our mission. Candidates will support activities in all phases, from startup to closeout, troubleshooting issues and helping identify solutions to complex implementation problems. Candidates will also participate in new business development, from leadership to specific roles, e.g., technical conceptualization and writing.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight of Panagora’s Program Impact team, contracts and compliance and training and capacity building, to advance our mission, vision, and values with focus on achieving annual strategic targets
  • Support development and execution of cost-effective business strategy aligned with company growth and delivering high-quality results
  • Supervise the Contracts and Compliance team ensuring company compliance and good customer services to our teams
  • Monitor and support activity performance via regular financial and program reports, M&E data, communication with HO and field teams, and periodic supervisory travel
  • Serve as liaison with clients, as required, to support client satisfaction
  • Oversee company training and capacity building activities, needs assessments, plan development, implementation, and coordination with other teams within the HO
  • Oversee and maintain CPARS responses and records, company historical project files, program resources, and corporate resources folder
  • Ensure system for collecting and maintaining aggregated activity data for use across the company including new business and communications
  • Communicate clear performance goals and standards; ensure staff receives regular performance feedback, prompt resolution of problems, and opportunities to develop in key competency areas
  • Promote staff development and ensures high levels of motivation, commitment, capacity, and teamwork; ensure a respectful, productive, and motivating work environment
  • Establish and maintain partnerships across departments, stays abreast of management, leadership, and team building strategies
  • Support new business development in technical area, periodically leading proposals and/or taking on proposal roles such as technical conceptualization and writing, recruitment of high-quality technical personnel, etc.
  • Represent Panagora periodically at conferences, meetings, and events
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

  • Master's degree in international development or an advanced degree in a relevant field
  • Proven leadership skills with at least 12 years of practical experience leading technical teams
  • Practical experience successfully managing USAID projects, analyzing, and reviewing budgets
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategic/business plans
  • Thorough understanding of USAID market, systems, and processes, including in global health
  • Motivated by working in a dynamic environment on multiple tasks against deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Strong business acumen and work ethic, with demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Excellent verbal and written communications; outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience working with multi-cultural teams
  • Experience living and working in a developing country
  • Proficiency in one or more languages other than English

 Executive Vice President or designee.
Level of Effort and Location: This is a full-time home office position based in Silver Spring, Maryland with intermittent travel as needed   .
