(JSI), a leading public health research and consulting organization dedicated to advancing the health of individuals and communities, is seeking an experienced project manager/senior coach to join our energetic and collaborative Health Services Division (HSD) team. This position will be responsible for providing leadership, project management, partnership building, client relationship, and technical assistance for health care transformation related projects within the United States, both at a state and national level.

About the role:
We are hiring a full-time Project Manager / Senior Coach, Health Care Transformation, to join our U.S. team who is a creative problem solver, able to quickly pivot in changing environments, and committed to advancing innovative approaches to improving population health; manage national and/or state projects related to health care transformation; provide technical assistance and training in specific areas related to this content area; form strong partnerships with funders, government agencies, community health centers and other organizations, as well as technical experts; manage collaboratives; conduct business development; and, be a strong communicator. JSI’s HSD has hundreds of consultants across 8 offices that work across local, regional and national projects simultaneously with a high-level of individual accountability. We strive to balance rigorous approaches with timely and imaginative implementation.
JSI health care transformation projects span a wide variety of topics including primary care/practice transformation, strategies to advance health and racial equity including addressing social determinants of health, multisector approaches to advancing population health, policy and payment reform, applied research to build the evidence-base for emerging areas in public health, and health information technology. This work requires extensive experience with and understanding of project management methodologies, multi-stakeholder engagement, community and provider engagement, planning and facilitation skills, strategic planning, and reporting and dissemination. This work also requires technical expertise and knowledge of the full continuum of clinical and non-clinical health-related services (e.g., public health, social service, community health, primary care, behavioral health, hospital, post-acute, etc.) as well as the structures, systems, and processes that promote service integration, care coordination, care transitions, workforce development, and health information exchange. Finally, this work requires an understanding and appreciation for issues of equity and the disparities that exist for certain segments of the population who have been disproportionately impacted by social factors.
This position has an annual salary range of $100,000 - $130,000 depending on years of experience. JSI offers competitive benefits including health insurance, dental, vision, and a 401k with a company match.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project management and leadership:Â Manage and co-lead large projects and staff dynamically, adapting to tight and evolving timelines, including development and management of action plans; clear communication with many different audiences; and managing development and production of deliverables.
- Development of deliverables:Â Working as a key member of a collaborative team, develop project deliverables including tools and resources to health care transformation best practices; and co-lead in-person and web-based convenings and presentations.
- Qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis:Â Apply rigorous analytic thinking and creativity to the collection and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data.
- Facilitation:Â Facilitate engaging meetings with clients, partners, and project stakeholders. Develop productive partnerships with other collaborating organizations, grantees, and stakeholders. This includes generating agendas and action items; planning activities to foster relationship-building, being sensitive to the participant experience.
- Internal learning and development: Contribute to JSI’s Health Service Division team professional development and social cohesion.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree and at least 5 years of experience or bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of experience in health care transformation related work. At least 3 years of experience in consulting and/or project management work.
- Commitment to advancing health and racial equity through internal organizational practices and external project work.
- Experience with Federally Qualified Health Centers and/or Look-Alikes.
- Knowledge of public health, health systems, and health equity and familiarity with services and programs related to primary care, population health, social determinants of health, behavioral health, and hospital services.
- Demonstrated skills in project management, including establishing program processes and protocols, managing timelines, leading cross-functional teams, and developing relationships through effective communication.
- Preparation of reports and information briefs.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrates self-awareness, inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Ability to create welcoming structured spaces for meetings and group work, virtually and in-person. This includes the ability to create and deliver on realistic agendas and meeting outcomes, lead creative icebreakers, and adjust meeting pace and goals in real time.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Google products (Drive, Calendar, Documents, etc.).
- Located in California or Colorado or ability to relocate to one of those locations.
- Ability to travel within the U.S. as health and safety guidelines allow.
Nice to have
- Experience working with State Medicaid offices, ACOs, and hospital/provider networks.
- Experience working with non-profit organizations.
- Proficiency in languages other than English, Spanish preferred but open to other languages.
- Health information technology expertise.
- Clinical expertise/degree.
Salary Range: $100,000-$130,000
