Position Description
The Administrative Assistant for the Humanitarian Team supports InterAction’s team in administrative tasks related to scheduling, travel, expense reconciliation and event organization. They will provide support across the four work streams of the team: Practice, Policy, Protection, and Shelter and Settlements. They will also provide ad hoc note taking support to working groups or other multistakeholder events and/or meetings. InterAction’s country working group and broader operational response priorities.
This position resides within InterAction’s Humanitarian Team, reports to the Coordinator, Humanitarian Practice and collaborates with InterAction staff across its various internal teams, as well as with InterAction members of a case-by-case basis.
Position Type
Part-time
This is a part-time position based in Washington D.C. InterAction maintains a hybrid work environment and employees are eligible to telework three days a week and work in the office two days a week. There is an expectation that employees will be based in the Washington D.C. region.
Essential Functions
- Assist the VP and Directors of the Humanitarian Team in scheduling, meeting organization and event planning on a case-by-case basis.
- Support the Humanitarian Team in financial reconciliation in close collaboration with InterAction’s accounting team.
- Collect and consolidate Humanitarian Team inputs to the weekly CEO newsletter
- Provide travel related administrative support to the Humanitarian Team including travel reservations, expense claims and liaising with People and Culture on insurance and other related issues.
- Provide as hoc note taking support to the various working groups across the team
- Support in the organization of events such as workshops, roundtable discussions, and other events and meetings in close collaboration with other Humanitarian Team staff and members domestically and internationally.
- Maintain up-to-date Humanitarian Practice email lists for relevant thematic issues and counties. Write, edit, vet, and disseminate email communication for the lists from the HPP email accounts.
- Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience working as part of a team and facilitating cross-team collaboration.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
- Strong commitment to InterAction mission and values.

Compensation
The hiring salary range for this part-time position is $21.63 - $25.oo per hour, commensurate with skills and experience.
This position is not eligible for benefits.
