Chief Development Officer

Follicular Lymphoma Foundation

Remote Employment in Eastern Time Zone

https://www.theflf.org/

Founded in 2019, the Follicular Lymphoma Foundation (FLF) is at the forefront of vital research, driving innovation and accelerating development of breakthrough therapies, with a clear and urgent mission of securing a cure. FLF exists to provide catalytic, system-shaping interventions that others will not to fund neglected science, orchestrate breakthrough collaborations, and shape priorities to deliver real patient outcomes. FLF’s strategy is bold and disruptive, focused on three “bold plays,” two “pathway priorities,” and one “turbocharger” designed to unlock progress across the field.

FLF is at a pivotal stage in its trajectory. Building on its international successes, the organization aims to catalyze its philanthropic revenue and earned income to achieve its bold and disruptive strategy. To that end, FLF aims to further build and accelerate its global fundraising program over the next five years, with a focus on the United States, Europe, and Israel.

FLF seeks an ambitious and proactive Chief Development Officer (CDO) to achieve its global vision of philanthropic growth. The CDO will lead the development function, personally identify and close principal gifts, design compelling giving vehicles, grow unrestricted giving, and build operations for scale. This is a pivotal leadership role for an ambitious, seasoned fundraiser with gravitas, credibility, and a proven record of creating constituency and securing transformational gifts.

To achieve FLF’s ambitious philanthropic vision, the ideal candidate will be a resourceful and entrepreneurial leader with the stature to identify, engage, cultivate, and solicit transformational donors. The successful CDO will build and carry a portfolio of prospects with a goal to target, retain, and secure annual, major, principal, and planned gifts from domestic and international prospects. The CDO will have the ability to create constituency in a global environment where the prospective donor constituency is not fully defined. The successful candidate will create and maximize global opportunities for philanthropic revenue and earned income from philanthropists, trusts, foundations, corporations, and strategic partnerships.

The CDO will create and market FLF’s transformational case for support, positioning FLF’s translational research to attract and secure the organization as a top-choice destination for all cancer donors in the United States, Europe, and additional global markets. The successful candidate will build deep relationships with patients, friends of the condition, and funders who support translational research. In parallel, the ideal candidate will create a disciplined fundraising program, including processes and procedures, implementation of best practices, and strong data and donor stewardship.

The CDO will report to the Global Chief Executive Officer and manage a team of two full-time fundraising professionals. The ideal candidate will identify opportunities and strategically engage FLF’s Co-Founders, Global Chief Executive Officer, and Board members in public outreach and fundraising activities, providing meaningful engagement opportunities and effective support. In addition, the CDO will partner closely with FLF’s Science, Patient and Delivery, and Operations teams to ensure proposals are credible and deliverable.
