SHE-CAN 10 Week Development Manager Position (Mill Valley)

 Temporary Development Manager
SHE-CAN (Supporting Her Education Changes A Nation) is seeking a Development Manager to join our growing team in Mill Valley for 10 weeks. This person will help us while the current Development Manager is out on a leave of absence. The position involves reporting to the Founder and Executive Director, and managing a Communications Coordinator and Development Coordinator. Primary goal is helping to build and foster the organization's growing donor base, and begin planning the fall gala.SHE-CAN is a global organization that transforms the lives of bright young women from post-conflict countries by helping them win scholarships to US universities and pairing them with US mentor teams. We have helped 56 young women from Rwanda, Cambodia (and soon to include Liberia) win full scholarships at top US colleges. You will be part of a growing and dynamic team that will produce some of the world's next great female leaders and change agents. We are at an exciting moment of expansion.

Responsibilities
• Support Executive Director in building donor relationships
• With the support of a full time Development Coordinator manage the planning for fundraising events including: Gala, VIP party, Kick-off Party
• With the support of a full time Communications Coordinator manage creation of materials related to: event announcements, social media, weekly chit chat and PR efforts
• Help manage fundraising outreach to current and prospective individual and corporate donors

Qualifications
• Experienced professional in donor development
• Experienced in office management, managing support teams and providing back-up support to executives
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Resourceful, organized, excellent attention to detail, personable
• Capacity to work and thrive in a growing, fast-paced organization with a collaborative environment
• Event management experience is a plus
• Donor management is a plus
• Only those with strong technology skills and advanced knowledge of Google Calendar, Google Docs, MS Office Suite and Mailchimp will be considered,
• Knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop are a plus

SHE-CAN is located in Mill Valley, CA. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hrs/week in our Mill Valley office. Start date will be July 22 and end date September 27. Occasional evening events require attendance. Only Bay Area local candidates will be considered.
