Description

JSI is dedicated to improving people’s lives around the world through greater health, education,and socioeconomic equity for individuals and communities, and to providing an environment where people of passion can pursue this cause. JSI is currently recruiting for a Project Coordinator (PC) for the Asia Resilient Cities Project, who will support the project’s Senior Management Team.

The Asia Resilient Cities (ARC) Project is a five-year cooperative agreement funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by JSI, with partners DevTech Systems, Inc., BRAC, ICF, John Snow India Private Limited, and The Asia Foundation. Over the course of five years, ARC will address cross-cutting urban development challenges in select cities in Asia by promoting sustainable urban growth; supporting resilient, low-carbon urban infrastructure; and integrating climate change and environmentally-conscious approaches. The PC will take part in a range of activities related to operations, communications, technical topics, and research.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Coordinator will:

  • Support the day-to-day implementation of the Senior Management Team (consisting of the Project Director as well as the Directors of Knowledge Management & Communications, Finance & Operations, Country Support, and Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, & Learning) activities, including meeting coordination and notes dissemination.
  • Work closely with the Project Director to monitor upcoming deadlines and to keep them apprised of any issues or delays.
  • Support the creation, implementation, and maintenance of tools, resources, draft presentations, trackers, and other documents, as requested.
  • Coordinate the annual work planning process and the quarterly reporting process for global work to ensure quality and maintain version control; work closely with the Knowledge Management team to coordinate editing, layout, and/or translation.
  • Maintain project filing system by saving and updating necessary documents including: job descriptions, work plans, budgets, strategy documents, and progress reports.
  • Assist in coordinating internal and external events and meetings, including venue procurement, processing vendor payments, planning coordination, materials support, and calendar management.
  • Assist in coordinating meetings for ARC, USAID, and external stakeholders including preparation of agendas, notes dissemination, and provision of basic virtual meeting platform support (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet).
  • Review and submit travel requests and trip reports to USAID, with oversight from the Project Director.
  • Monitor and update the project’s purchase order tracker to ensure timely, accurate payment.
  • Serve on procurement committees and work closely with the Finance & Operations Director to ensure proper understanding and implementation of the procurement process.
  • Support recruitment process through posting job descriptions, reviewing applicants, conducting phone screens, and providing other support as necessary. Assist in onboarding and orientation of new hires.
  • Backstop consultants supporting global work, including collecting onboarding paperwork, drafting contracts, processing payments, and tracking consultant deliverables, and supporting consultant travel.
  • Perform other related duties as requested/assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience: 1-2 years’ experience working in international health or development ideal. Post-graduate work experience preferred, but work experience through school and/or summers accepted. Recent graduates are welcome to apply!
  • Computer Skills: Ability to work comfortably in the MS Office Suite applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms).
  • Languages: English fluency required; professional proficiency in a second language is highly desirable (Hindi, Gujarati, Bangla, Russian, Kyrgyz, and/or Mongolian).
