Description

The Human Resources Global Mobility Advisor is the primary Overseas Operations point of contact on country offices human resources and staffing issues. The HR Advisor will provide advice to country leads on matters related to human resources or staffing including policies & procedures, recruiting, benefits, and compensation.  Serves as an advisor in the formulation, implementation and monitoring of administrative policies and procedures as related to international human resources.  They will partner with country office leadership to improve HR service delivery and applicable HR practices to address country-specific HR concerns and challenges.  The HR advisor will report to the Vice President, Overseas Operations.  Due to country office locations, Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) will be required. 20-30% travel to country offices will be required.

 

FORMAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • The Human Resources Global Mobility Advisor is the primary Overseas Operations point of contact on The Carter Center's country offices' human resources and staffing issues.
  • Provides advice to country leads on matters related to human resources or staffing including policies & procedures, recruiting, benefits, and compensation.
  • Serves as an advisor in the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of administrative policies and procedures as related to international human resources.
  • Partners with country office leadership to improve HR service delivery and applicable HR practices to address country-specific HR concerns and challenges.
  • This position reports to the Vice President, Overseas Operations.
  • Due to country office locations, Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) will be required.
  • 20-30% travel to country offices will be required.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in human resources or related field, and seven years of progressive HR experience, supporting global operations, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, work independently, prioritize workload and multi-task in fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English and second language; preference for French.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • GPHR or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in implementing and working with Human Resource systems and software.
  • Successful track record as an HR business partner with an international development organization, traveling to country offices to support HR operations and capacity building.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to The Carter Center on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines. The Carter Center reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
